It all began in 1997 —  a fundraiser with a singular objective: secure the legendary Heymann House, now the esteemed Alumni Center. With the help of devoted sponsors and unwavering supporters, the mission was accomplished, the mortgage paid in full, and the note ceremoniously burned. Mission: success. But the Gala doesn’t rest. While priorities evolve, its impact remains critical.

Our annual Spring Gala will be held at the Alumni Center on Saturday, April 12, 2025. John W. Bordelon will be recognized as the 2025 honoree for his generosity and commitment to both Acadiana and the University.

 

The 2025 Spring Gala has its sights set on new objectives that will leave a lasting mark:

Increase scholarship awards — Because the best minds deserve the best opportunities.

Launch the Connections Initiative — Forging bonds between students, alumni, and local employers.

Expand Alumni Club and Chapter Programming — A stronger network means a stronger legacy.

Support vital community initiatives — The Big Event, NCBI Lafayette’s Empowerment Through Education, and more.

Preserve the elegance of the Heymann House and its gardens — A legacy worth protecting.

Enhance student support throughout their entire 4+ year journey — From day one to graduation and beyond.
