John W. Bordelon has been at the helm of Home Bank since 1993, steering it from a modest two-branch operation with $110 million in assets to a formidable institution boasting $3.4 billion in assets and 43 branches across Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. Starting as CFO in 1981, he climbed the ranks to become Chairman, President, and CEO.
Beyond banking, Bordelon has left his mark on numerous boards, including: Community Foundation of Acadiana, Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce (where he served as Chairman), UL Alumni Board (as President), Co-founder and first Chairman of the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation, Southwest MedicalCenter, United Way of Acadiana, Louisiana Open, Ascension Day School, Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and University of Louisiana’s Athletic Foundation Advisory Committee.
A New Orleans native and University of Louisiana at Lafayette alum, Bordelon graduated with a BS in Accounting and played linebacker for the Ragin’ Cajuns from 1973 to 1976. He was honored as the 2021 UL Outstanding Alumni. He and his wife Suzanne, married for 48 years, have three daughters and six grandchildren, all residing in Louisiana.
