Honoring Jake Delhomme ’01
A Ragin’ Cajun legend and retired NFL Pro Bowl quarterback, Delhomme built his career on hard work and perseverance. A standout at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, he finished his collegiate career as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns.
After beginning his NFL journey with the New Orleans Saints, he rose to prominence as the starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, earning a Pro Bowl selection and leading the team to Super Bowl XXXVIII.
Today, he lives in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana with his family and continues his Louisiana roots through thoroughbred horse training.
Supporting the Next Generation
Proceeds from the Spring Gala support Alumni Association initiatives, including the Comeback Scholarship, which assists returning UL Lafayette students in completing their degrees.
The program reflects a shared commitment to perseverance, second chances, and ensuring more Ragin’ Cajuns cross the finish line.
Blackham Coliseum — Unlike Ever Seen Before
This year’s Gala will take place May 9 from 7–10 p.m. at Blackham Coliseum, a Lafayette landmark that has brought generations together since 1950.
