STUDENT TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH ENDOWMENT FUND

IN HONOR OF DR. BRIAN LOCK'S 39 YEARS OF SERVICE.

After 39 years of service to UL, Lafayette and the  Geology department, Dr. Brian Lock, is retiring.  Brian has advised over 100 students on MS-degree theses, taught well over 100 courses, and has been a primary catalyst for the overall success of the Geology program. To honor Brian several of his former students have come forward and started an endowment fund in his honor for the purpose of supporting student research.

Dr. Brian Lock's influence on his students is far reaching, through this campaign we are giving everyone a chance to give back to the place and person who was so instrumental in so many current and past students lives. This fund will allow for a lasting legacy to his many contributions and support UL students into perpetuity. The endowment will support student research-related travel, equipment, sampling, analysis, and other related costs. Undergraduate and graduate students will submit applications for research money that will be competitively awarded on an annual basis.

Brian plans to remain active as an Emeritus Professor of Geology, so we hope to continue to benefit from his insights and advice for as long as possible!
